Registration for this year’s ICANN78 General Annual Meeting from 21 – 25 October in Hamburg is now open. Together with DENIC eG and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, eco –Association of the Internet Industry is hosting the 25th meeting of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). As an international non-profit organisation, ICANN coordinates the worldwide allocation of domain names and IP addresses, ensuring the secure and stable operation of the Domain Name System (DNS). Therefore, ICANN is recognised as one of the key players in the Internet industry. The meeting aims to gather up to 2,500 visitors from various interest groups to discuss grassroots regulations concerning the future of the DNS, including data protection-compliant handling of registration data.
Around ICANN78, eco is organising an accompanying programme in collaboration with its members before, during and after ICANN78 to emphasise the significance of the DNS, the domain industry, ICANN and the ICANN78 meeting at both national and European levels. A highlight is the kick-off event of ICANN78: The Day Zero Workshop on the NIS2 policy and its impact on the DNS industry will take place on 20 October 2023 from 10:00-17:30.
